Mittens and Gloves Galore, and learn to knit a wide variety of toasty mittens and gloves that the whole family will love!
Even
beginners will be able to jump right into this class! We'll start out
with the anatomy of mittens and gloves, how to take measurements and
make adjustments, and supplies and tools you'll need for our projects.
Next, we'll knit a five-in-one pattern that can be customized into
mittens, fingerless mittens, convertible mittens, gloves, or fingerless
gloves—choose your own adventure!
After that, I'll take you
step-by-step through creating Lacy Arrow mitts that are knit flat at the
cuff with a variegated or solid-colored yarn and then continued in the
round. Our next project will be a Tanglewood fingerless mitt with
elegant cabling; plus I'll show you how to create a liner! Then, we'll
move on to a faux Fair Isle mitten with a gusset thumb and two options
for finishing the mitten top. In the last project, I'll take you through
knitting a thrummed mitten where tufts of wool act as a warm liner
inside. Be forewarned,
the projects in Mittens & Gloves Galore are crazy cozy and incredibly cute, and though they make the perfect gift, giving them away is easier said than done.
